Report from Brussels: overview of pending and completed legislative initiatives in the area of financial services in the EU – content and state of play

With the 2024 – 2029 legislative cycle approaching soon its midpoint, this report provides an overview on the procedural state of play as well as of the content of the main pending and recently finalised legislative initiatives proposed by the European Commission in the area of financial services, in particular in the area of banking, insurance and capital market law as well as the European Savings and Investment Union. The report continues the previous report from 2024 (ZBB 2024, 321) and follows in its approach earlier reports from 2018, 2019 and 20221 with a cut-off date of 17 July 2026.
